talent evaluation

YOLA 2020

O3 ATHLETICS scouts the length and breadth of Nigeria and West Africa in search of talents and we have chosen Yola, Adamawa State as our next point of call.

We will host two (2) events in April; Super 5 Yola and Yola 2 Europe, both geared towards identifying the next superstar(s) to come out of Nigeria.

Selected talents would have a chance to further their footballing career at professional football clubs in Europe.

A Fresh Approach to Scouting //

Our Scouting programs are based on best practices world over and players are selected only on merit. To be selected, a player must meet minimum requirements in these four (4) key areas;

1) Technical: Dribbling, Passing, Heading, Tackling and Shooting.

2) Tactical: Decision making, Sped of play, Positioning, Vision and Mobility.

3) Physical: Speed, Agility, Strength, Power, Flexibility, Endurance and Power.

4) Psychological: Composure, Commitment, Motivation, Leadership, Attitude, Determination and Teamwork.

What We’ll Do //

Super 5

This is 5-a-side knockout competition where the team with most goals in 20 minutes qualifies for the next round. The winning team wins a cash prize and all players automatically qualify for the final scouting phase of Yola 2 Europe.

o3 Yola Academy

Footballers that are not selected to be a part of the Yola 2 Europe program but are at a very good level would be drafted into the O3 Academy in Yola, provided they do not already have a football club they are playing with.

The progress of these players would be monitored and those that show rapid improvement would have a chance to be signed in Europe, Asia or North America.

Yola To Europe

A talent evaluation program in which individual players are rated on technical ability. Players would be selected based on speed, skills, understanding of tactics, attitude, teamwork and the desire to be the best in their position.
