Project 2028+

PROJECT 2026+ is an eight-year rolling program that is designed to make West Africa the world powerhouse in athletics.  Nigeria for instance, with an estimated population of 200 million (more than 60 times the population of Jamaica) has never won a gold medal in 16 participations at the World Athletics Championship and only 2 at 16 Olympics games.

O3 ATHLETICS is therefore working on a 3-step process; unearth young talents, hone their skills and expose them to international training facilities through our scholarship program.

scouting & training

From local playgrounds in vilages to the highbrow training tracks in cities, we ensure every talent is discovered. Our scouts are ex-athletes and professional coaches with in-depth knowledge of athletics.

O3 Athletics’ scouts work as talent evaluators. They watch athletes perform at secondary school competitions, university games and professional levels to determine the talent, potential and style of the athletes.

Our training programs are designed to meet the individual needs of each athlete. The content and quality of training depends on gender, age, strengths, weaknesses, objectives and sprint discipline.

We work on sprint techniques at every session. These include the warm-up and phases of sprinting; start, acceleration, transition, maximum speed, speed maintenance and finishing.

We secure full scholarships for athletes already selected for the Project 2026+ program. These scholarships are performance based and only for athletes that meet the academic criteria.

Student-athletes get the opportunity to exchange cross-cultural ideas with students from other countries, experience life on another continent and expand their horizon, both academically and socially.

Student-athletes on scholarship WILL only represent their country of birth at International Competitions.
